Managers Beware

If you were employed with AIL for a period of approximately 6-months to 1-year or more and you leave the company be prepared to receive a bill from AIL for around $500 accompanied by a letter explaining that the $500 is for lost business and loss of good-will. The letter might also sue you if you do not pay it and report the non-payment to a collections agency.

BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING Make sure that you request in writing that AIL send you copies of any/all agreements or contracts you signed with them. Make sure that the amount is valid and that in your contract it specifies that you agreed to pay. Also, if you signed any contracts under suspicious circumstances - such as AIL managers had you sign the contract in front of many people during a meeting without you having a chance to review it - the contract may be invalid.
